Job Title:  Brewer
Department:  Brewery Operations

Job Summary: As a brewer, you will be responsible for monitoring and carrying out brewhouse, fermenting, filtration, blending processes, and operations in the execution of the daily work schedule in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. You will represent and promote Cape May Brewing Company in a positive manner to guests, local residents, and the general public.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example in upholding the Company’s Core Values and promoting a positive and constructive working environment
  • Perform all brewhouse procedures, including milling malt, mashing in brews, monitoring boils in the wort kettle, transferring to fermenters, and pitching yeast
  • Cleaning and sanitizing all equipment used in the brewhouse and cellar
  • Keeping accurate records of all brewing procedures including temperature and flow monitoring
  • Sensory analysis of various products
  • Follow inventory procedures for all raw materials and assist with inventory counts as requested
  • Ensure that the brewhouse and surrounding areas are clean and organized
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and communicate any equipment issues to the QA Manager in a timely manner
  • Constantly strive for improvement by looking for ways to make things better, safer, faster or by reducing costs
  • When needed, assist with accepting deliveries and other warehousing operations
  • Assist in other areas of the brewery on an as-needed basis


  • 21 years of age or older
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Experience in brewing beer
