Community FoodBank of New Jersey is the state’s largest anti-hunger and anti-poverty organization, servicing nearly 15,000 households in South Jersey and distributing over 40 million meals each year.

CMBC collects hundreds of pounds of non-perishable, shelf-stable food items and several hundreds of dollars in funds during our Food Drive to benefit CFBNJ.

"We’re tapping into the heart and soul of CMBC -- and our fans -- to ensure that families throughout our region have a meal on the table.”

Annual Food and Supply Drive

2020 has been a rough year. We’ve seen a global pandemic that won’t end and an economic downturn that’s hurt many of our nearest and dearest.

It’s been rough.

Because of that, more than ever, at Cape May Brewing Company, we need to live our Core Value to Be a Good Neighbor.

That’s why this year, we’re determined to make our annual food drive to be the biggest and the best yet.

Beginning November 20th and running through December 20th, we’re relying on CMBC’s Heart & Soul.

Good Neighbor Day

46183031_1990893194328946_4786747145950593024_oEach year, our food drive collects hundreds of pounds of food, non-perishable, and shelf-stable items for our neighbors in need throughout Cape May County.

We’re proud of that fact. We’re proud that our fans step up, year after year, to help the food-insecure families throughout South Jersey.

This year is no different. And, with the chance to win a $500 CMBC gift card, you’ve got five hundred reasons to help out.

So, at our Food Drive Event on Saturday, December 15th, we’re asking all of you to step up.

Feed the People!

Believe it or not, the holidays will be here before you know it. It seems like we were all at the beach a week ago, getting some sun and playing in the sand, but it’s actually November now.

How did that happen?!?

Regardless, as the weather turns colder and the seasonal employment dries up in Cape May County, we’re left with a lot of people in the county who aren’t sure where their next meal is coming from.

That’s where the Community Food Bank of New Jersey comes in. They work tirelessly to ensure that no one in our state goes without a nutritious meal, servicing nearly 15,000 households in South Jersey and allowing us to live out one of our most dearly-held Core Values: Be a Good Neighbor.

That’s why, beginning November 16th, we’ll be collecting shelf-stable, non-perishable items in our Brewtique.

Food Drive

Logo_taglineWhile you’re probably still raiding your kids’ Halloween candy, before you know it, the holidays will be upon us. And at CMBC, we like to plan ahead — particularly when we’re trying to help our neighbors.

For many of us, the holidays mean family around a roaring fire, some delicious CMBC brews, and a huge meal that mom spent the better part of a week preparing. Yet, for many families in the Cape May area, the prospect of a huge meal is just a bit out of reach.

That’s where the Community FoodBank of NJ comes in.

Food Drive A Success!

Congratulations to Tracy Saltarelli, who won the CMBC gift basket worth $100 for donating food to our charity drive.

And congratulations to all of you.

You generated 271.8 pounds of food for the Community FoodBank of New Jersey – which crushes last year’s total of 146 pounds. (And we haven’t even counted the items collected by our sales team in Philadelphia yet.) You also donated $307.67 to play the ring toss game in our tasting room, and all of that will also be donated. Since every dollar equates to $10 worth of food… you’ve just made a lot of Christmases a lot more merry.

Have a very hoppy holiday — you deserve it.

Make It Rain… Canned Vegetables

We’re still collecting non-perishable items for the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, and — for anyone who brings in four food foodbankdonations — we’re still offering $1 off any six-pack or growler fill to go. But because we want this to be the most productive food drive in CMBC history, we’ve added a little extra incentive.

In order to make the canned peas flow like beer, we’re kicking off a raffle drawing. Bring in four items to donate, and you’ll be entered to win a Cape May Brew Co gift basket worth $100. We’re talking about gift certificates and some of our hottest merchandise for you to use, or for you to use as a kickass re-gift come Christmas… we won’t tell.

You’ve got from now until December 14. Show the brewtender the goods, fill out the ticket she hands you, and wait for us to announce a winner on our social media channels on December 15.

Let’s make it happen.

Tis The Season For Giving

Still looking for a way to get on Santa’s good list?

For the third year in a row, we’re hosting a collection for the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. This non-profit feeds more than one million people per year, and provides food assistance to over 250 charities throughout Cape May, Cumberland and Atlantic Counties.

“Any legitimate place providing food to the underprivileged in these areas is likely getting the bulk of their donations through us,” says Executive Director Evelyn Benton. “We’re thrilled when organizations like the brewery think outside of themselves to contribute.”

CFBNJFrom now through December 14, non-perishable food items will be accepted at the tasting room. Canned fish and meat, canned or boxed meals, shelf-stable milk, peanut butter, and canned fruits and vegetables are especially welcome. No glass, cellophane, soda, bottled water or baby food, please.

For every four items you donate, you’ll receive one dollar off of any 64-ounce growler fill or any six-pack to go. Because of your generosity, we contributed 146 pounds of food to the cause last year, and we’d really love to top this number in 2015.

“We’re in a position of high visibility,” says our prez, Ryan Krill. “It’s not all about great beer; it’s about taking our momentum and putting it to use for the public good.”

Don’t forget – you also have the option of donating a dollar to play the Hook and Ring Toss game set up in our tasting room. All proceeds will be gifted to the FoodBank.

Remember: beer tastes better after a good deed.
