There was also a 5K run. I'd jump in TWICE if it meant I didn't have to run!

Take the plunge!

Sometimes, you’ve just gotta take that plunge.

Sometimes, it’s in 40° degree water in the Atlantic.

If that’s something you’re down for, you could do so while benefiting the Cape May Food Closet by joining a handful of Brew Crew members in the 3rd Annual St. Paddy’s Day Plunge, brought to you by Carney’s on the Promenade!

It’s an "it" beer right now for an IPA.

Spotlight On… Jasper’s Backyard!

There has never been anything typical about Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. Just look at that name. That’s a combination of letters that shouldn’t exist anywhere in the world. Yet, when you realize that a river called the Schuylkill runs directly through town, maybe you give ol’ Conshy a pass on its name.

There’s nothing typical about Jasper’s Backyard, either. Located a block off the main drag at 101 E 7th Ave. in Conshohocken makes it easy to miss, but the ambiance, the food, and the fact that they’re one of the few spots in the Philly area to carry Cape May IPA as a permanent tap offering lets you know that you’ve stumbled upon something special.

Beer Mine

You’ve definitely got your choices laid out for you at Valentine’s Day, and, if you’re not an amateur at this romantic stuff, you know what you’ve got to do:

Breakfast in bed.

Fancy dinner.

String quartet.

Hire a flying baby to shoot arrows at your loved one.

Enchant a rose to drop petals until your true love proclaims his or her love to you or you must forever remain a Beast.

You know. The usual.

Or, you could just make it easy on everyone and not run the risk of your family and friends remaining furniture for the rest of their lives and come to Beer Mine, our 2019 Valentine’s bash, on Saturday, February 16th, starting at noon!

“It's a very enjoyable class,” he says, “with lots of great lessons to help me develop myself professionally, as well as chances to get to know a lot of people from all over Cape May County.”

Leadership Cape May County

One of the unsung heroes in Cape May County is our Chamber of Commerce. With some 800 members, the Chamber works diligently to engage the community through a variety of means. They implement member and visitor services, manage special events, and work on specific issues. They’re tirelessly promoting Cape May County’s tourism and offer a variety of marketing opportunities.

Over the past four years, through their Educational Foundation, they’ve instituted Leadership Cape May County, designed to develop informed, committed, and qualified business, community, and civic leaders for Cape May County.

Thirty-nine individuals have graduated from the program over the past three years, including our Distribution Manager Justin Vitti and our Marketing Director Alicia Grasso.

This week, the current class stopped by the Tasting Room to hear what Ryan had to say on Leadership.

“We need to gather as a community to make sure those that put their lives on the line for us still have food on the table and a place to lay their head.”

Shutdown Donation Day

There’s something wrong when the government can’t get it together enough to pay the men and women charged with keeping our shores safe.

Yet, that’s the reality for some 508 servicepeople in the US Coast Guard, stationed right here in Cape May, with another 299 up the Parkway in Atlantic City. They’re out on the high seas, saving lives and intercepting drugs, with no pay.

Not only do our beloved Coasties save lives each and every day, but they’re some of our best customers. As home to the nation’s only Coast Guard Training Center, each and every Coast Guard recruit spends eight weeks in our fair city, usually visiting our Tasting Room at least once.

If our government can’t get it together to help them out, we’ll do it ourselves.

So, this past weekend, to Be a Good Neighbor, we held a Shutdown Donation Day to raise some much-needed funds and collect some food and supplies for the Coasties who have given us so much.

Good Neighbor Day

46183031_1990893194328946_4786747145950593024_oEach year, our food drive collects hundreds of pounds of food, non-perishable, and shelf-stable items for our neighbors in need throughout Cape May County.

We’re proud of that fact. We’re proud that our fans step up, year after year, to help the food-insecure families throughout South Jersey.

This year is no different. And, with the chance to win a $500 CMBC gift card, you’ve got five hundred reasons to help out.

So, at our Food Drive Event on Saturday, December 15th, we’re asking all of you to step up.
