On the Road with Erin

This week, we had the chance to ride along with our Philly-area Sales Manager, Erin Gale, as she pounded the pavement in the King of Prussia/Conshohocken area.

A surprisingly springlike day — the high that day hit 78°– Erin toted samples around the western Philly burbs while the ice quickly melted in her trunk.

As our out-of-state representative, Erin works alongside our wholesale partners, coordinating as a team to provide beer to our quickly-growing Philadelphia fan base.

“We’re constantly rotating,” he says, “and we always have Cape May on.”

Spotlight On… Kid Rip’s!

“Once you met him, he left an everlasting impression. He was definitely a character. Throughout high school, I’d come home and my friends would already be at the house because they’d come over to get advice from him. He was one of those people who would tell you the truth and give you the best advice he could give.”

That’s how Mike Ripa — co-owner of Kid Rip’s in Runnemede — describes the bar’s namesake, his father, Dino Ripa.

Although we are bummed that the Patriots lost, it was a well-played game and we have to give credit where credit is due.

Collecting Our Winnings

If you just can’t get enough of Eagles fever — the kind of fever you want this time of year — we’ve got one more event up our sleeves to celebrate the Birds’ big win last weekend.

As you might know, we entered into a friendly wager with Massachusetts-based Night Shift Brewing. Well… on Saturday, February 17th, the time has come to collect.

They definitely deserve a beer. And we’re proud to give it to them.

Cape May Brewing Co. Salutes the Coast Guard with Always Ready

There are lots of reasons people come to Cape May: the beaches, the restaurants, the arts and culture, the nightlife. But 4,000 of our visitors each year make Cape May their home for eight weeks — adopting our town as their own as they endure their basic training period at the Coast Guard Training Center.

Since 1982, Cape May has been home to the Coast Guard’s only Training Center. Each and every active-duty Coast Guardsman who toils to keep our shores safe has spent time in our shore town.

We’re the Coast Guard’s Hometown, and we wear that title proudly. It’s only fitting that, on  February 8th, Cape May Brewing Co. honors that status the best way we know how: with a beer brewed in their honor.

And presents are always nice.

Bae + Beers

Some people love Valentine’s Day and start planning it sometime in the previous year. They go crazy buying chocolates and roses and frilly, pink things with lace and flowers and cupids and hearts.

Some people hate Valentine’s Day and don’t want anything to do with it. They sit at home, eating chips and yelling at the cat.

Nonetheless, both of those people love beer. So, on February 10th, we’ll celebrate both of those people with Bae + Beers!

When I initially approached Cape May Brewing Company, I was only hoping for a possible donation.  However, when Randi reached back out to me and presented the idea of a Pint Night, I was floored!

Pint Night for Police Unity Tour

January is Police Appreciation Month, and we can’t think of a better way to support our men and women in blue than with a night of beer in their honor.

Well. Money, too. Money is nice, particularly when they’re trying to raise funds in memoriam of their fallen brothers and sisters.

So, we combine the two: on January 18th, from 5-8pm, we’re throwing a Pint Night for Chapter II of the Police Unity Tour!

“I love working with CMBC,” Matt says. “It is humbling to know they want to be a part of such a special cause to me. Their support for the second year in a row is greatly appreciated, and I am grateful for them helping me spread the word and awareness for my cause.”

Szcz the Day Pint Night

Sometimes partnerships get you a little more than you bargained for. John Lennon and Paul McCartney teamed up and changed the face of Western music forever. Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins teamed up and got humans to the moon. Ryan, Hank, and Mop Man got together and made some killer beer.

Last year, we partnered with Villanova to make Demisemi for the University’s 175th anniversary, and out of that came a stellar friendship with Cape May native, Padres outfielder Matt Szczur.

We debuted Demisemi at our first Pint Night of 2017, supporting the Andy Talley Foundation and Be the Match. It was such a rousing success that we’ve decided to repeat the magic. On January 12th, $1 from each pint and flight served between 5 and 8pm will be donated to Matt’s newly-founded Matthew Szczur Foundation.

“Not only did they collect food, but they collected funds,” Renate said. “So it’s an amazing show of community partnership and I am so grateful for them.”

Food Drive Fund Drive SUCCESS!

There’s nothing better than helping out your fellow man, particularly around the Holidays.

Food drives are a great way to do it, but this year we wanted something a little different, ‘cause that’s how we roll. We can be a drop-off point for food — that’s awesome! — but we really wanted to get our fans a little more involved this time around.

Since the Community FoodBank of New Jersey needs more than food, we wanted to raise some funds for them, as well.

In a word, Chief Celebrations Officer Randi Friel characterizes our Food Drive Fund Drive as “awesome.”

“We couldn’t decide on a theme this year,” says Chief Celebrations Officer Randi Friel, “so we went with both!”

Ugly Sweater/Griswold Christmas Party

SweaterPartyGriswold (1)What is it that you love about Christmas?

The silent majesty of a winter’s morn… the clean, cool chill of the holiday air… preferably you won’t have an “asshole in his bathrobe emptying a chemical toilet into your sewer.”

Either way, you’ll probably have a better Christmas than the Griswolds — particularly if you come to CMBC’s Ugly Sweater/Griswold Christmas Party!

Food Drive Fund Drive

Our food drive is still going strong, and we’ll be collecting non-perishable food items until December 18th. However, with the number of families in need in our area, we realized that there were more ways we could help.

“We wanted to get more involved,” says our Chief Celebrations Officer Randi Friel. “We didn’t want to simply cut them a check — we wanted to get our fans involved in the process.”

That’s why, on Thursday, December 14th, we’re throwing a Food Drive Fund Drive to support the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.
