Production Loves Follow the Gull!

Follow the Gull is back!

We know that this is a definite fan-favorite, but this juicy and ultra-drinkable hop-bomb is a favorite of the production crew, as well.

Originally brewed to celebrate Cape May County’s 325th anniversary, our folks in production brew Follow the Gull with a ridiculous amount of Citra, El Dorado, Azacca, and Amarillo hops. Cape May County is 328 years old, now, but this brew is just as fresh as ever.

Take a look to see what the folks in production have to say about Follow the Gull!

We’re Still Crushin’ It

Over the two-and-a-half years we’ve been brewing Crushin’ It, one thing is certain: our fans absolutely love this beer.

And for good reason! Who would have thought that an IPA with orange juice could be so delicious and so refreshing and so completely hit the spot in every imaginable way?

From a beer that began as the winner in one of our internal homebrewing competitions to scaling it up this month and completely selling out of it within a few weeks, we’re extraordinarily gratified that our fans have embraced this beer so thoroughly.

In fact, earlier this week, we released yet another small batch of Crushin’ It in the Brewtique, and the response was exactly what we expected: our fans went crazy for it.

While our fans love this beer, our experience with Crushin’ It this year has been a wild ride — for us, for our fans, and for a brand we have all come to know and love.

Folks are Loving The Grove!

At long last, The Grove is here!

If you missed it last autumn, The Grove is our unbelievable citrus shandy with a reasonable 4.5% ABV, and you’re definitely not going to want to miss it this time around.

This snappy, super bright, ridiculously refreshing summer shandy drinks like you picked the fruit this morning, squeezed it into a glass, and turned it into the most intensely crushable beer you’ve ever seen. Sweet and tart, the brilliant aromas of The Grove will whisk you away, making you imagine that you’re walking through a citrus grove at harvest.

It’s available now through our retail partners in New Jersey and will be available in eastern Pennsylvania beginning on Monday. We’ll have it in Delaware by mid-May and in the Tasting Room by the end of the month.

While we’ve got an intense roster of fruit beers this summer with The Bog, Crushin’ It, and Tan Limes, The Grove is batting cleanup for a reason: this beer completely knocks it out of the park.

“With a light ABV of 4.5%, The Grove is significantly more balanced than some of our other fruit beers, yet also has a brilliant orangey, grapefruity, tangeriney finish.”

Scaling Up The Grove

Last year, we brewed up an unbelievably delicious citrus shandy for the Tasting Room and called it The Grove

While it was released at the tail end of the summer season, our fans in Cape May couldn’t get enough of it! Fans who were lucky enough to try this limited release were overwhelmingly positive in their reviews.

It only makes sense that, this summer, we brewed up a ton of it, canned it up, and are releasing it for distribution throughout New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, and Delaware!

Cape May White Reviews

We introduced our incredible Belgian-style wheat ale, Cape May White, in February, and our fans have been loving it!

Brewed with orange and lemon peels, coriander, grains of paradise, and our favorite Belgian Witbier yeast, Cape May White brings fruity esters up-front with an easy-drinking finish.

You can find Cape May White in 12oz cans throughout our distribution area. Read what our fans are saying!

Cooking with CMBC

With all of the time on our hands during the COVID lockdown, if you’re anything like the Brew Crew, you’re probably cooking up a storm. At the beginning of this crisis, to keep in touch with each other, we began a few social Slack channels, and the #master-chef-cmbc channel has been blowing up with recipes, pairings, and some awesome pictures of what looks to be delicious food.

So, this week, we put out a message to the Brew Crew — and on some of our Social Media channels — to get some ideas from both our staff and our fans.

And they didn’t disappoint! From some ideas for cocktails using our brews to interesting pairings and some amazing recipes, we’ve collected many of them for you this week.

We hope you have a chance to give them a try!

"Beer can be what washes down the lovely dinner you made with your harvest or what you share with your special someone in the shade of the tree you planted.”

Make Your Garden Grow

Spring is springing all over the place these days, and, as many of us are cooped up inside our houses, it’s the perfect time to get outside and start working on those gardens.

Since many of us don’t have much else going on right now — and Easter dinners around the area are more-or-less canceled –, we figured this would be a great time to pair some of our beers with their perfect horticultural matches.

And, since the staff at Straight to the Pint knows less about gardening than they do about medieval French poetry, we contacted Kathy Salisbury: a real, live horticulturist, Director of the Ambler Arboretum of Temple University, consultant at Katsura Horticultural, and lover of all things beer to help find not only the perfect plants for our beers, but also ones that will thrive in the climate throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.

"I'm really not much of an IPA drinker, but I love Crushin' It. So, if there's anyone out there who sees 'IPA' and thinks it's not for them, I highly suggest trying Crushin' It."

Crushin’ It Staff Reviews

Crushin’ It — our delicious orange IPA — is back with a vengeance!

And, as the weather is slowly turning warmer, this beer is back none too soon. With Citra, Mosaic, and Azacca hops blending together to accentuate the fresh flavors of orange juice, Crushin’ It is dry, approachable, and perfectly balanced.

Once our COVID-imposed quarantine is through, we’ll be loving Crushin’ It out in the sun. However, Crushin’ It is a great beer for staying inside, too.

We asked the Brew Crew what it is that they love about this beer, which quarantine activities they’re pairing with Crushin’ It, and which summer activities they’re looking forward to once we’re through this mess.

Check it out!

Crushin’ It Reviews

These days, many of us are learning that some days are better than others. However, just about any day can be made better with one thing: Crushin’ It.

Refreshing and great for the beach, Crushin’ It is soon to be your summer staple. With Citra, Mosaic, and Azacca hops blending together to accentuate the fresh flavors of orange juice, Crushin’ It is dry, approachable, and perfectly balanced.

When we first dropped this beer as a one-time Tasting Room-only release back in the summer of 2018, the response was overwhelming: we knew we had to bring it back the following year. When we did, we couldn’t keep it on the shelves of the Brewtique. So, scaling this one up was a no-brainer.

Crushin’ It is currently available in the Brewtique for growler fills, and will be released in 12-ounce cans and will be available throughout New Jersey beginning April 8th, with Delaware to follow on on the 13th and Pennsylvania on the 14th.

Check out what our fans have to say about this extraordinary orange IPA!

“This beer pairs perfectly with more hops! The OG White Caps is damn near perfect on its own, but it's fun to throw these twists and modifications to it to see what happens.”

Double Dry-Hopped White Caps

With all that’s going on right now, it’s important to find ways to keep your mental health positive.

At Cape May Brewing Company, we hope that there’s a chance that we can provide that for our fans. And, as we’re all stuck at home, navigating this new normal, there are probably only a few things in this world that can get you more excited than a new beer.

But, there probably aren’t that many words that could get you more excited than “double dry-hopped”.

Mash them up with “White Caps”, and it might be the high point of your week.

Double Dry-Hopped White Caps is our beloved White Caps, double dry-hopped with Sabro and Cashmere, which bring strong notes of coconut, cedar, and orange creamsicle, complementing the stone fruits and citrus waves provided by the Citra and Mosaic in White Caps.

And it’s available now in our Brewtique!
