“I’m jazzed our team was recognized by the Chamber,” Ryan says. “It’s the proof that we’re working hard to make an impact on our families and community. “

Yay Awards!

Recognition for being excellent is pretty awesome. Our beers have received many awards, and, as a business, we get a handful, as well. Last year, we were named NJBIZ’s Emerging Business of the Year and the NJMEP Startup Manufacturer of the Year.

Two awesome awards for an awesome company.

But this year… we’ve been awarded the Lower Township Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Business Award!

“I’m jazzed our team was recognized by the Chamber,” Ryan says. “It’s the proof that we’re working hard to make an impact on our families and community. “

While we think we’ve been a good neighbor to Lower Township, it’s nice to have this recognition that we’re doing it right.

Over the past few years, we’ve hosted numerous Pint Nights, raising money to support such local causes as the Cape May chapter of the NJ Audubon Society, the Cape May Food Closet, the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts and Humanities, and Matt Szczur’s Szcz the Day initiative to raise funds for the Andy Talley Bone Marrow Foundation.

We’ve spearheaded several projects to support the cultural and philanthropic life of the Cape May region. For the past four years, we’ve been the official beer sponsor of the Exit Zero Cape May Jazz Festival. We’ve sponsored Ted(x) Cape May, bringing ideas worth spreading to the people of Cape May, and we’ve partnered with numerous non-profit organizations to bring Pop-Up Beer Gardens throughout the area over the summer.

In addition, Cape May Brewing Co. has supported the tourism initiatives of Cape May County. We brewed Follow the Gull to help the County celebrate their 325th anniversary, naming the beer for the ubiquitous signs that dot the route from Cape May to Atlantic City.

Most importantly, though… we’ve completely changed the face of craft beer in Cape May County. There was nothing down here when Ryan, Hank, and Mop Man opened up shop in 2011, and now there are four other breweries with more in planning.

Cape May has always been a paradise — after all, it is America’s Oldest Resort — but thanks to CMBC’s leadership, this area is now a booming beverage destination.

And we couldn’t have done it without you.

It’s your support that has allowed us to grow from those three guys with their one beer into the craft beer leader that we are today.

It’s your support that has allowed us to lead the charge into the unknown of craft beer, blazing a trail for others to follow.

It’s your support that has allowed us to be recognized time and again as leaders in the industry.

So, as always, we share this triumph with you, our loyal fans. Thank you for all that you do for us on a regular basis.
