The Brew Crew and the [Big Game]

The [big game] is this Sunday!

You know what that means… everything is completely different this year! (…yaaaaaayyyy….)

Well, luckily, not everything. There will still be two teams, four quarters, a halftime show, incredibly expensive commercials, and… of course… Cape May Brewing Company brews.

We caught up with the Brew Crew to find out who they’ll be cheering for on Sunday and which CMBC beer they’ll have by their side.

Director of People Operations Christine Bry

I will be rooting for: The Kansas City Chiefs

Which beer are you looking forward to drinking during the Big Game? Two Versions of Me

I will be eating: Wings, homemade buffalo chicken dip with corn chips, and sloppy joes for the meat-eaters.

How will you be celebrating? How does it differ from a “normal” year? Our celebration will be “just the two of us”: my husband John and I, differing from the old days in my father-in-law’s man cave garage with the previously-frozen tomato pie and my husband’s family. It’s okay to try something new, like Two Versions of Me, maybe it will be better than “normal”! Go Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, and Chad Henne!

Marketing Director Alicia Grasso

I will be rooting for: The Kansas City Chiefs

Which beer are you looking forward to drinking during the Big Game? Two Versions of Me

I will be eating: Chips! My family and I will settle into the den for kick off and all of us will simultaneously open our own bag of Doritos. We might get some Pizza Hut, because my kids LOVE their personal pizzas. Other than that, whatever my husband wants to make. I just want to watch the game!

How will you be celebrating? How does it differ from a “normal” year? We’re actually rooting for both teams — we love watching Mahomes magic, and nothing really compares to watching Brady still kill it. Either way, we’ll be celebrating no matter who wins!

Accounting Manager Liz Feyas

I will be rooting for: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Which beer are you looking forward to drinking during the Big Game? Devil’s Reach

I will be eating: Anything fried! Maybe some homemade Buffalo dip and boneless wings as well, yum!

How will you be celebrating? How does it differ from a “normal” year? I’m a Patriots fan so rooting for the Bucs is completely different. Gotta follow my boys Brady and Gronk though. Go Bucs!

Tasting Room Supervisor Danielle Brasch

I will be rooting for: The Kansas City Chiefs

Which beer are you looking forward to drinking during the Big Game? Apple Bomb

I will be eating: Wing It! Their house hot wings with Mac and cheese and apple sauce.

How will you be celebrating? How does it differ from a “normal” year? I’ll start the day of serving all you fans in our Tasting Room from 12-7! Then I will go home and watch it from my couch with Mike and Olive. I actually prefer that. The [big game] should be moved to a Saturday!

Marketing Associate Casey McBride

I will be rooting for: The Commercials

Which beer are you looking forward to drinking during the Big Game? Cape May IPA

I will be eating: Tons of pizza and any appetizers I can throw in the air fryer.

How will you be celebrating? How does it differ from a “normal” year? In true pandemic fashion, I’ll be celebrating on the couch! Any other year I’d probably be doing the same thing with a few more people and a lot more food.

Brand Ambassador Gavin McGee

I will be rooting for: The Kansas City Chiefs

Which beer are you looking forward to drinking during the Big Game? Coastal Evacuation

I will be eating: Roast pork, broccoli rabe, and sharp cheddar cheese stromboli from Cacia’s bakery.

How will you be celebrating? How does it differ from a “normal” year? I will only be celebrating if the team without Tom Brady on it wins.

Sales Manager Eric Wormann

I will be rooting for: The Kansas City Chiefs

Which beer are you looking forward to drinking during the Big Game? Snag & Drop

I will be eating: We’ve been planning our at-home menu for weeks now. It’s narrowed down to some combination of: air fryer wings, Doritos Nachos, turkey chili, and hummus with pretzel chips. And probably a crap ton of beer.

How will you be celebrating? How does it differ from a “normal” year? Normally my friends and I fly to Las Vegas to gamble until regret. Instead, I will be gambling on FanDuel until regret.

Warehouse Assistant Austin Cornia

I will be rooting for: The Kansas City Chiefs

Which beer are you looking forward to drinking during the Big Game? Two Versions of Me

I will be eating: Anything and everything!

How will you be celebrating? How does it differ from a “normal” year? It’ll be much more low key most likely, not as many people together for it, but that’s okay! I can actually focus and enjoy the game more!

Warehouse Manager Polly Pollock-Bell

I will be rooting for: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Which beer are you looking forward to drinking during the Big Game? Two Versions of Me

I will be eating: I will be eating a big ol’ bowl of venison chili.

How will you be celebrating? How does it differ from a “normal” year? This year will be way more low key — no big gathering with friends and family. Just myself, Mal, and the pups on the couch in our jammies.

Brand Ambassador Mark Dumsha

I will be rooting for: The Kansas City Chiefs

Which beer are you looking forward to drinking during the Big Game? Cape May IPA

I will be eating: Definitely eating chicken wings. My buddy, Mike T., is an elite “smoker” chef (if that is an actual title), so whatever he is cooking, I am eating! Fingers crossed for sliced roast beef, ribs, and/or pulled pork.

How will you be celebrating? How does it differ from a “normal” year? Well, I am usually celebrating by drinking some fine Cape May brews until around the middle of the 4th quarter when the celebration turns into sorrow because my block pool picks don’t hit and my team isn’t going to win. This year the party will be small because of everyone’s least favorite pandemic.

Sales Manager Scott McIntyre

I will be rooting for: The Kansas City Chiefs

Which beer are you looking forward to drinking during the Big Game? Two Versions of Me

I will be eating: Probably too much! Wings, chips and dip, pigs in a blanket…

How will you be celebrating? How does it differ from a “normal” year? Will get together with a few friends to watch! I’ve never really gone to a bar to watch the big game, so it won’t look too different.

Content Marketing Coordinator Scott Armato

I will be rooting for: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Which beer are you looking forward to drinking during the Big Game? Coastal Evacuation

I will be eating: Maybe I’ll make a ziti. I’ve had the ingredients in the fridge for a week; might as well get it over with.

How will you be celebrating? How does it differ from a “normal” year? I picked the Bucs because my parents have a place in Tampa so it seemed logical, but I won’t be watching the game and don’t care who wins. You see, I began the tradition nine years ago of eschewing all sports and sports-related activities on [big game] Sunday by, instead, watching that classic 90s teen comedy, Clueless. Alicia Silverstone, Stacey Dash, Brittany Murphy (RIP), Donald Faison, Breckin Meyer, Jeremy Sisto, Wallace Shawn, Dan Hedaya, and Paul Rudd can keep me entertained. I’ll be keepin’ it real. And you can keep your judgments to yourself. Why should I listen to you? You’re a virgin who can’t drive.

Barback Steve Cifelli

I will be rooting for: The Kansas City Chiefs

Which beer are you looking forward to drinking during the Big Game? White Caps

I will be eating: Nachos, pigs in a blanket, and a little specialty I make called Lebanon bologna rolls which are rolled up with cream cheese and pickles. My friends love those things and sometimes refer to them as “pickle things”.

How will you be celebrating? How does it differ from a “normal” year? I will be celebrating from home with just a few family members. It’s different from another, normal year because usually I’d be watching it with dozens of people or maybe even go somewhere for it.

Cape Beverage AR and Credit Specialist Noelle Smuz

I will be rooting for: The Kansas City Chiefs

Which beer are you looking forward to drinking during the Big Game? Two Versions of Me

I will be eating: Shrug. I am not organized enough to be a menu planner.

How will you be celebrating? How does it differ from a “normal” year? I’ll be celebrating if The Kansas City Chiefs win. When I said I wanted 2021 to go back to normal, I did not mean I wanted Tom Brady back in the [big game].

Barback Colin Smith

I will be rooting for: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Which beer are you looking forward to drinking during the Big Game? Snag & Drop

I will be eating: Panico’s Italian takeout and homemade clam chowder.

How will you be celebrating? How does it differ from a “normal” year? It’s different from a normal year because Brady, Gronk, and Brown aren’t wearing Patriots jerseys but are all still in the [big game]!!! 🙂

Executive Assistant Andrea Sharp

I will be rooting for: The Kansas City Chiefs

Which beer are you looking forward to drinking during the Big Game? Golden Mule

I will be eating: Nachos, chips and salsa, and more nachos!

How will you be celebrating? How does it differ from a “normal” year? I’ll be celebrating with my family at home. In a “normal” year I would be at a party celebrating with friends.

Sales Manager Chris Verderame

I will be rooting for: The Kansas City Chiefs

Which beer are you looking forward to drinking during the Big Game? Two Versions of Me

I will be eating: My Dad’s homemade chili which is a [big game] tradition accompanied by hot wings while rooting for Big Red to win back to back ‘chips.

How will you be celebrating? How does it differ from a “normal” year? I’ll be watching the game with my parents, sister, brother-in-law, and their newborn baby girl Brooklynn. Usually I’d be enjoying the game with a house full of family & friends.

Social Media and Design Alchemist Courtney Sara Rosenberg

I will be rooting for: The Kansas City Chiefs

Which beer are you looking forward to drinking during the Big Game? Apple Bomb

I will be eating: Buffalo Chicken Dip made with Camo Hank Sauce for sure!

How will you be celebrating? How does it differ from a “normal” year? Okay, so I am going to be honest: I may only watch bits and pieces, hoping for Tom Brady to lose. I am a big fan of Jason Kelce (go Birds), so the Kelce brother love/connection, I fully support. Hopefully the Eagles will come back in the 2021 season ready to kick some booty and football can be “normal” again. I miss going to games. I need another speech like this to look forward to. HELL YEAH!

Head Driver Christopher Martin

I will be rooting for: The Commercials

Which beer are you looking forward to drinking during the Big Game? Coastal Evacuation

I will be eating: Probably some soup Sunday is for the S O U P! Thinking of making a Mulligatawny soup?

How will you be celebrating? How does it differ from a “normal” year? I didn’t even know the game was happening at all… GO SPORTS! Normally, I go over a friend’s or family member’s house and eat delicious (un)healthy appetizers and drink a bunch of brewskis, but this year I’m probably not going to do anything. Maybe I’ll make one of those meat and cheese plates. You know, those Shark Coochie boards everyone always talks about? (Ed: <sighs, hangs his head, and slinks away>)

Warehouse Assistant Alejandro Garcia

I will be rooting for: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Which beer are you looking forward to drinking during the Big Game? Snag & Drop

I will be eating: Slap-certified buffalo dip and chips!

How will you be celebrating? How does it differ from a “normal” year? I will be celebrating just like any other year: by drinking good beer and eating good food! Unlike past [big game]s, I will be flying solo instead of hanging out at my favorite bar in Boulder, Colorado!
