The Bog Cocktails
There’s nothing better than an awesome beer cocktail. Cool and refreshing, they’re perfect for the summer months — and they mix two of your favorite things: beer and cocktails!
And there’s no better beer cocktail than one made with The Bog. Its sweetness and its cranberry deliciousness are perfect for a beer cocktail. In addition, its low 3.9% ABV makes it excellent for a mixer.
We’ve had a number of events over the past few weeks that featured some Bog joyfulness in a cocktail form. Check ‘em out!
This twist on the classic Cape Codder is a new take on an old favorite. Devised by the Blackthorn Irish Pub and Grill in New Brunswick for our Bog Brunch a few weeks back, people were loving them!
- 3 ounces of The Bog
- 2 ounces of lime vodka
- Garnish with a lime wedge
This one has been going over really well this summer! They were serving them up at our Clambake at City Tap in University City during Philly Beer Week and you’ll be able to sample them at our Anniversary Party at Cabanas next weekend!
- ½ ounce of The Bog
- 2 ounces tequila
- Juice of one lime
- Don’t forget to salt the rim!
Another from the folks at Blackthorn, this variation on a Bloody Mary substitutes The Bog for the usual tomato juice and Worcestershire sauce. It’s a fruity spin on that savory classic!
- 2 ounces of The Bog
- 1 ½ ounces of vodka
- ¾ teaspoon of horseradish
- Tabasco to taste
Moscow Mules are about some of the tastiest cocktails known to man. Add The Bog into the mix, and you’ve got a party waiting to happen! They served these bad boys up at the City Tap during Philly Beer Week, and they’ve been seen on the menu at Harpoons by the Bay in Townbank.
- 1 muddled lime
- 4 ounces of The Bog
- 1 ½ ounces vodka
- Pour into a copper mug
- Garnish with a lime wedge
This one hasn’t shown up at any events yet, but, as they say, “hold my beer” — it’s only a matter of time. This delectable take on the classic Madras is the quintessential brunch beverage — substituting the intense cranberry flavor of The Bog for the cranberry juice makes it even better!
- 2 ounces orange vodka
- 2 ounces The Bog
- Orange juice floater
Created by Brady over at Harpoons oy the Bay, this one is one of the highlights of the summer. Closer to the new-fangled “Man-mosa”, this one is great for when you’re rocking that brunch, bro-style.
- 4 ounces The Bog
- 4 ounces Orange Juice
- 1 ounce vodka
- 4 ounces champagne (substitute prosecco for the authentic Harpoon experience!)
A favorite of Mop Man, he’s made sure that we’ll have it in time for our Anniversary Party on June 28th! Of course, he’s playing it close to the vest with his recipe, so you’re going to have to come to the party and try to get it out of him!
This isn’t an exhaustive list of the possibilities with The Bog — you can always pour a can into a pint glass and float a shot of your favorite citrusy vodka on top!
