Bikes & Beers 1st Annual Cape May Event

We’re teaming up with fan-favorite Bikes & Beers this Fall for their 1st Annual Cape May event! The event features three routes departing from Cape May Brewing Company and traveling up through idyllic Cape May County. All rides will feature morning fuel stations, marked routes, rest stops with refreshments, ride marshals, and SAG support. The end of each route will take you back to the brewery for live music, games, giveaways… and of course, BEER!! A workout AND a beer – what could be better??

Event Date: September 25, 2021

Choose between three different route options: 15, 30, and 50 miles. All riding levels are encouraged to join in on the fun!

To purchase tickets, visit Bikes & Beers website here.

Start times vary from 8:30am to 10:30am and the after party goes until 2:00pm at the Brewery!

A portion of proceeds from the event will go to the South Jersey Wheelmen and Rails to Trails to help complete bike trails and improve cycling conditions in South Jersey!

Don’t sleep on this! Tickets are discounted until the month before the event. See you there!

Biking and Beers

While the weather this week might make you believe that spring came and went last week, we actually have a few weeks of rather nice weather coming up, once spring rolls around. The celestial gods have scheduled the vernal equinox for this Saturday, March 20th — the moment we begin tipping from night outlasting day and begin to see the longer, beautiful days of springtime and summer — and warmer temps and bluer skies are sure to follow.

If you’re anything like us, the prospect of beautiful days at the Jersey Shore means that you’ll be getting your bike out of storage and on the road, so we caught up with our good friend at Bikes & Beers, Sam Accardi, to find out what steps you should take as you get ready to hit the open road.

Hops Trot

Among other things, 2020 will go down as the year of the virtual event.

We’ve seen virtual concerts, virtual comedy nights, virtual trivia nights, virtual DJ sessions (some from our very own DJ Denny Oh), and virtual happy hours.

Earlier this year, sometime during the Spanish-American War (also known as “April”), our good friends over at Bikes & Beers were one of the first to throw their hat into the virtual ring with their Social Distancing Ride. Aimed at keeping people active and getting outside during the crucial, initial stages of the pandemic — and raising some money in the process –, this event was an unequivocal success, setting the standard for virtual events.

Now, with a chill in the air, Bikes & Beers is hosting yet another virtual event, the Hops Trot, beginning October 15th and running through November 30th!

Bikes & Beers Social Distancing Ride

It’s amazing the amount of ingenuity that shows itself in the worst of times.

Last week, we discussed how some of our fellow breweries and our associations have innovated in the past few weeks. The bars, restaurants, and liquor stores that we serve have found ways to rise to this occasion.

As events throughout the area have been canceled, the organizers have found ways to keep their spirits alive. Bikes & Beers, an organization dedicated to building communities through human interaction and connection, hosts rides in conjunction with a participating brewery, with proceeds going to support a local cycling advocacy organization.

As COVID-19 rears its ugly head throughout the country, they’ve found a way to serve their mission while maintaining social distancing guidelines through their Bikes & Beers Social Distancing Ride.
