We had a lot to be thankful for this year! Check out what we were most excited about.

Nice Knowing You, 2021!

Despite the craziness that the pandemic continues to bring on our team and our community, we had a lot to be thankful for this past year! Here’s what we were stoked about:

NEW LAWS/REGULATIONS

CBMTRA, or the Craft Beverage Modernization and Tax Reform Act went into effect, which helped reduce excise tax liability on craft breweries, a move which helped keep many small breweries afloat this past year!

We weathered through numerous COVID restrictions and changes, including implementing tableside service rather than bar service, curbside pickup, navigating indoor seating/capacity limits, mask requirements, and more!

NEW BEER

We released a TON of new beer, including: Golden Mule, Two Versions of Me (our collab with the awesome folks at Tonewood), Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Milkshake IPA, Beer of the Woman, Boat Ramp Champ (our collab with the inimitable Qualified Captain team), Down to Fiesta, Black Cherry Sour, Peach Ring Sour, Fake Palm Tree, Cin Cin, Anniversary Ale 10, Raspberry Lemon Crushin’ It, Orange Vanilla Crushin’ It, Bay Daze, Longliner, psYCHed up!, Strawberry Radler, Life is Gourd, Pineapple Seltzer, Brave Noise (our brew in partnership with breweries and organizations around the world to advocate for a safe and discrimination-free beer industry), and of course, the On the Way to Cape May series, which gave us fan-favorites Boardwalk Lemonade, Red Gummy Fish, Chocolate Fudge Stout, and more. Snowplace Like Home and Coquito also had new snazzy cans this year!

We also distributed some new brews throughout the region for the first time, including: Key Lime Corrosion, Cape May Hard Seltzers in a variety pack, Sea Chest, Honey Porter (in cans!), Grapefruit Crushin’ It, and Blueberry Lemon Crushin’ It.

NEW IMPROVEMENTS

Our production team tried out a 24/5 brewing schedule during the summer, we got a swanky new cellar (affectionately named Cellar 4), and our canning line received a much-needed upgrade.

We added a ton of seats and tables out in our Brewtanical Garden this season to give folks a fun, safe place to enjoy our brews and the gorgeous weather, and also updated and rearranged our Tasting Room and Brewtique to keep things fresh and provide new ways to explore our space.

The Cape May Brewing Company Beer Spa and Wellness Center!

. . . ok, ok, just kidding. But maybe someday!

NEW MILESTONES

Our 10th Anniversary! We made a pretty awesome video to celebrate, partied with folks for an incredible celebration weekend, and got some new and seasoned perspectives on our latest Anniversary brew: Anniversary Ale 10.

We had 8 brew crew members celebrate their 5-year anniversary with us!

Over 19 people had promotions throughout the year, including moving up within departments and moving between departments.

NEW TEAM MEMBERS

We had over 40 new brew crew members join Cape May Brewing Company and Cape Beverage this past year, and we’re still looking for awesome folks to join us! Check out our Careers page to see which areas are looking for new team members!

NEW FANS

Yes, you! We’re so glad you decided to give us a try this year and have stuck around with us. We’ve got more great things coming your way soon!

Thank you to everyone who was on this journey with us for the past year, including everyone who was there for our opening and each year in between! We can’t wait to see you all in 2022!
