‘Tis the season for giving....

Good Neighbor Day

46183031_1990893194328946_4786747145950593024_oEach year, our food drive collects hundreds of pounds of food, non-perishable, and shelf-stable items for our neighbors in need throughout Cape May County.

We’re proud of that fact. We’re proud that our fans step up, year after year, to help the food-insecure families throughout South Jersey.

This year is no different. And, with the chance to win a $500 CMBC gift card, you’ve got five hundred reasons to help out.

So, at our Food Drive Event on Saturday, December 15th, we’re asking all of you to step up.

Nearly a million people in New Jersey face hunger every day, including 200,000 seniors and 1 in 7 children. These people are often faced with a rough choice: pay for housing, utilities, and medicine, or buy food.

In every county, in every neighborhood, parents skip meals to feed their children, students choose education over food, and people everywhere choose between their life-saving medication or their next meal.

At CMBC, we’re determined to do something to help.

“‘Tis the season for giving,” says Events Coordinator Randi Friel, “so it’s the perfect time to come together as a community to help those in need. We can’t do this alone, so we’re asking for our neighbors’ help.”

This year, food and funds will be donated to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey — Southern Branch. Statewide in 2017, CFBNJ collected over 50 million pounds of food, equating to over 42 million meals for food-insecure individuals throughout New Jersey, while partnering with over 1,000 food pantries, soup kitchens, and programs. Based in Egg Harbor Township, the Southern Branch of CFBNJ increased their distribution by 28% over 2016, serving 9,261 households in South Jersey.

We’re collecting:

• Detergent
• Soaps
• Shampoo
• Canned vegetables
• Canned fruits
• Canned soups
• Peanut butter
• Jelly
• Canned meats
• Canned beans

And we want to close out this year’s food drive with a bang! So, this Saturday, we’re getting everyone together for one final push to make sure that this year is memorable.

We’re looking to collect 100 pounds of donations on Saturday. Once we do, we’ll tap a reserve keg of The Bog! And, the person who gets us over our goal gets their name on the coveted Good Neighbor Keg!

There are few brews on our roster that see as much love as The Bog. A tart cranberry wheat beer blended with lemonade, The Bog is light, refreshing, and one that our fans ask for over and over.

And, don’t forget, for every eight items you donate, you receive a raffle ticket for a $500 CMBC gift certificate! You could get all of your holiday shopping done and have a little left over for yourself!

See you then!
