Floral Friday

This winter’s been a bit of a roller coaster ride when it comes to weather, but it’s finally gotten cold outside. We still haven’t seen any significant snow in Cape May this year, but we haven’t given up hope.

Regardless, it’s cold — really cold this weekend. You’ll want to warm up with some of The Purp at our second Floral Friday!

“Everyone dreams of warmer days in winter,” says Tasting Room Manager Danielle White, “and there’s no better way to beat winter than a floral shirt and some steel drums.”

Last month’s Floral Friday was a great hit, so we decided to do another one.

“We had a great turnout in January,” Danielle said. “It was an awesome way to celebrate the release of a new brand with Sea Chest, so what better way to welcome back The Purp than with another Floral Friday?”

This week, we’re celebrating the release of our delicious grape shandy, The Purp! It tastes exactly like a grape soda, but it’s made with real Concord grape juice.

“I think it tastes like a melted purple grape snowcone,” Innovation Director Brian Hink said when we brewed it last year. “You know that extra liquidy, sticky juice in the bottom of the paper cone cup that you drink up after chewing through the crushed ice on the Boardwalk? I think it tastes like that.”

And we’ll have more than simply The Purp on tap at Floral Friday. We’ll have steel drum master Nicholas Rotindo playing all of your favorite island music — and even a few tunes you never heard on the steel drums before! You can try your hand making sand art, and we’ll even have a limbo contest going down at 6pm!

“Put on your favorite floral shirt, grab some of The Purp, and have a blast!” Danielle says.
