"During these dog days of summer, I’m hitting the beach and relaxing by the water’s edge with a cold, refreshing Tan Limes."

Beat the Heat!

It’s hot.

Like… really hot.

The air feels like we’re on the sunward side of Mercury.

A camel sauntered by the brewery yesterday, picked up a six of Tan Limes, looked at us, said, “Screw this,” and got on a plane to Alaska. A freakin’ camel!

On the bright side, our papayas are coming in nicely. The coconuts look great. Those kiwis came in handy for Summa Down Unda.

But, we know that there’s no better way to cool down than with a cold Cape May brew. We asked the Brew Crew for their favorite ways to beat the heat, as well as asked them which beer does it best.

Director of Sales Bill Zaninelli

How do you beat the heat? The beach is how I beat the heat and relax. Nothing like lounging at the beach, enjoying the sun and cool waves and water. A couple or three Tan Limes, a nice sangwich, the Yankees on the radio, and a nap! Ahhh!

How do you beat the heat? I load up the awesome backpack cooler we gave out to employees last year with some Tan Limes for me, some Crushin’ It for my hubby, and whatever is new for my son if he’s around, and head to the beach in Strathmere. After the beach, we hang out on our back deck. Christopher, my son, takes a hammock nap and wakes up for some cold draft Tan Limes while watching movies on our outdoor TV.

How do you beat the heat? This year, we smartly invested in a fantastic 10ft x 6ft inflatable pool for the backyard. Nothing can top jumping in the 20 inches of deep, ice-cold hose water on a hot summer day while indulging on an ice-cold Cape May Lager.

How do you beat the heat? There’s no beating the heat when you work at a sweatshop. But! That doesn’t mean you can’t cool down after work, and that’s where beer comes in.

How do you beat the heat? My favorite way to beat the heat is spending a day at the Bay with some fishing lines in the water and plenty of floats to go around. It’s a great escape to be able to run out to the sand bar and take a refreshing dip.

How do you beat the heat? We have a great town pool in Morris Township. I try to get down the slide a minimum of six times per visit. Unfortunately, alcohol is prohibited, so the Crushin’ It waits for me in the fridge at home.

How do you beat the heat? Everything is heat. It is everywhere. It has become sentient and is rising up against me. It cannot be beat. It consumes me. I succumb, wailing audibly, but no tears appear because there is no water left anywhere. You win this time, heat.

How do you beat the heat? When I’m not working in our Beer Garden or Brewtanical Garden you can catch me at the Bay! I bring my ocean oasis float and anchor it down. My private little float island even has cup holders!

How do you beat the heat? I work in a warehouse for ten hours a day, and once I’m finished, I rush over to the food truck and work another five to six hours there. I beat the heat by working in hot, enclosed steel boxes for long periods of time. So, I guess I don’t beat the heat, I just work through it. On my days off I… wait it’s not September yet. I don’t have full days off.

How do you beat the heat? After a long night of serving food to customers at my summer job, a cold beer truly makes the world a better place. This summer has been brutal between the heatwaves, insane humidity, only outdoor dining, and required PPE — reminder: please wear a mask when going out to eat to keep yourself and your server safe. A cold pour of Cape May White with a fresh chilled orange slice is quite delicious after hours of running around. Once I close out my last table I wash my hands to the tune of the Eagles Fight song in my head and take 5 to enjoy my well-deserved shift beer.

How do you beat the heat? The key to beating the heat is having a friend who has a pool. I’ll trade her my access to great beers for my access to her pool! She loves The Grove or Crushin’ It to beat this heat but I’ll take a nice sour!

How do you beat the heat? Hop in the pool, of course. Quarantining became bearable (sort of) when my pool opened, giving me something to do with the kids. Tan Limes is very refreshing in the pool!

How do you beat the heat? The dogs are big fans of the hose and the doggie pool, and I enjoy my outdoor shower with shower beers.

How do you beat the heat? I stay inside as much as possible. The sun is my enemy! The Grove is my go-to hydration method!

How do you beat the heat? Anytime I can beat the heat and get down the shore, nothing is more refreshing than an ice-cold Tan Limes!

How do you beat the heat? Beat the heat? I embrace it! I sit outside until I go into work, sit outside when I come home, and crack open a cold one.

How do you beat the heat? I beat the heat by going directly into it. We are lucky enough to live pretty close to the beach, so we usually spend the weekend either on the beach or by the pool. People have been really respectful of space on the beach this summer, so it is a nice way to unwind after a busy week. Some music, the crashing waves, and a cold brew… not much better.

How do you beat the heat? This summer, I’ve been beating the heat in a large kiddie pool in the back. Sometimes I keep cool by making frozen cocktails with The Bog.

How do you beat the heat? I beat the heat in the beautiful Atlantic Ocean at my beach club in Sea Bright, NJ, while drinking a Tan Limes. It is the perfect beach beer.

How do you beat the heat? I’ve been staying indoors with the AC at a comfortable, cool temperature. If I have to venture outside, I immediately head straight to the shaded areas of the yard.
