American Craft Beer Week 2019
Sometimes, around 9:30pm on a Sunday — usually after too much weekend — you’ll sit back and think, “Maybe… I just never go back to work ever again, ever.”
It’s not an unreasonable thought. Your boss may not agree, but she’s probably had the same thought once or twice, as well.
However, some weeks are easier to anticipate than others. There are some weeks when you sit back on Sunday night and think, “Bring it, life! Wachu got?!?”
Those weeks almost always involve some sort of celebration: a birthday, an anniversary, a holiday of some sort. They’re even better when it’s a weeklong celebration.
Thankfully, the good folks over at the Brewers Association devised the best weeklong celebration we know: American Craft Beer Week!
A nationwide celebration of U.S. small and independent craft brewers, this weeklong salute to everyone’s favorite beverage provides an opportunity for craft brewers to share their creativity and passion for the beverage they love.
So, this Sunday, if you’re dreading the week ahead, keep in mind that CMBC has a week full of great events to celebrate the best week of the year, beginning May 13th!
If you haven’t had the chance to check out our new Beer Engine, this is the week to give it a whirl! It’s a particularly traditional way of serving beer, invented in late 18th century England, and perfect for celebrating.
This week, we’ll be giving out prizes to each person who orders a pint that kicks the cask! First up, we’re tapping a cask of über-sweet Honey Porter with twice as much honey, then we’ve got a lemon yuzu Cape May Lager, followed by a cask of Always Ready conditioned on orange juice and Citra hops. Yum!
Monday — Beers with Brian, Return of The Bog Slushie
Our very own Innovation Director, Brian Hink, will be taking up residence in the Beer Garden for a chat about all things beer. And beards. And life. And love. And whatever else might tickle his fancy. You’ll get the low down on all of the happenings at CMBC, past, present, and future.
And maybe you’ll choose to sip on a slushy made of The Bog! We introduced these last year, and American Craft Beer Week is the perfect time to bring them back. Frozen, refreshing, and filled with as much cranberry goodness as everyone’s favorite Cranberry Shandy, it’s the perfect sipper for our beautiful Beer Garden.
Each year, the guys at the brewery face off with the women at the brewery, each brewing up a delicious sextel to see whose kicks first! Last year, the women were triumphant, and they’re back to defend their crown.
The guys have brewed up a wheat beer with lemongrass, mint, and Lemondrop hops, while the women’s wheat beer has blueberry, raspberry, and Mosaic hops. Both sound delicious, but which will kick first?
Stop down to the brewery on Wednesday and join in the competition! Represent and help kick the keg!
Saturday — Return of Crushin’ It
Inspired by the summer cocktail at the shore — the ubiquitous Orange Crush, this brew found its genesis in one of our first internal homebrew contests in July of last year, and our fans loved it!
With Citra, Mosaic, and Azacca hops blending together to accentuate the fresh flavors of orange juice, Crushin’ It is dry, approachable, and perfectly balanced. And this year, we’re putting this bad boy in 12-ounce cans! Cans are only available in the Brewtique, so be sure to stop down!
Sounds like a great week! So, on Sunday, when you’re dreading your work week, you’ll know that we’ve got American Craft Beer to make it better.
See you then!
