2019 New York International Beer Competition
At Cape May Brewing Company, we work hard to make beers for our fans to enjoy, and you fine folks get to reap the rewards of our labor.
Every so often, it’s nice to be rewarded on our own. We’re proud of what we do, and it’s gratifying when our hard work pays off.
That’s why we’re glad to see these awards from the 9th Annual New York International Beer Competition!
Since the first New York International Spirits Competition in 2010, distillers, brewers, and vintners from around the world asked them to include wine and beer. Now, the International Beverage Competition Series includes competitions in New York City, Berlin, Melbourne, and Hong Kong.
At the competition in New York City, Cicerone-certified retail store buyers and restaurant beverage directors judge the brews submitted from some of the finest breweries around the world.
They rated our beloved Double IPA, Coastal Evacuation, a 94, earning it a gold medal!
As big and bold as hurricane season itself, with a Centennial-forward, brazen blend of hops serving up hints of orange citrus and honeydew melon, Coastal Evacuation has a long, dry finish.
A recent Tasting Room-only release, Sea Chest IPA, earned a 91 rating and was honored with a Bronze medal!
A New England IPA brewed with Golden Promise, honey malt, flaked rye, flaked oats, and flaked wheat, Sea Chest is copiously dry-hopped with Cashmere, Motueka, and a newly-named, previously-experimental, thoroughly enjoyable varietal of hop named Sultana.
And Cape May Brewing Company was named the New Jersey Ale Brewery of the Year!
It’s certainly wonderful to be recognized, but we know that we couldn’t have done it without the support of our awesome fans throughout the years.
Thanks so much!
